Applied Knowledge (Introductory: BT/MA/FA) 

Students are assessed using computer-based testing with multiple-choice/multiple-task questions. Each test typically lasts for 2 hours and they are available to be taken throughout the year. On-demand CBEs allow for flexibility in students' studies as they can sit exams at any time of the year. Results are displayed immediately at the end of the exam and uploaded to myACCA account within 72 hours. 
 

Applied Skills (Build on existing knowledge: LW/PM/TX/FR/AA/FM) 

These are assessed through a session CBE. These take place during four exam sessions (March, June, September and December) and are booked using ACCA's online exam booking system.  Depending on the exam, students may be required to use word processing, spreadsheet and slide presentation tools - enhancing their employability skills. 


Students sitting exams for these levels will undertake exams at an ACCA venue (remotely invigilated option also available). 
 

*The LW exam (Applied Skills) is also available as an on-demand CBE.


Strategic Professional (Become chartered: Essentials - SBL/SBR Options [choose any two] - AFM/APM/ATX/AAA) 

Essentials (SBL/SBR) and Options (AFM/APM/ATX/AAA) modules. These are assessed through a session CBE. These take place during four exam sessions (March, June, September and December) and are booked using ACCA's online exam booking system.  Depending on the exam, students may be required to use word processing, spreadsheet and slide presentation tools - enhancing their employability skills. 
Students sitting exams for these levels will undertake exams at an ACCA venue (remotely invigilated option also available). 

 

Exam Cycles

ACCA runs four exam sessions a year:

  • March session: 1 Jan - 31 March
  • June session: 1 April - 30 June
  • September session: 1 July - 30 September
  • December session: 1 Oct - 31 December

These sessions are in line with the exemption closing dates.


To qualify as an ACCA member you should:

  • Complete 13 exams (maximum nine are eligible for exemptions)
  • Gain 36 months of related practical experience (before, during or after exams)
  • Complete the online Ethics and Professional Skills (EPSM) module

Course Requirements

Applied Knowledge Level: 

  • Two A-levels and three GCSEs (or their equivalent)
  • These need to be in five separate subjects including English and Maths

If you don't meet the minimum entry requirements, you can join the ACCA by first completing the Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) programme (BT, MA, FA papers). After completing the FIA you can then continue with the applied skills modules


Applied Skills Level:

FIA/ACCA Applied Knowledge paper passed or exempted. Master’s degree in relevant subjects. 

Strategic Professional Level: 
ACCA Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills level papers passed or exempted.


Ethics and Professional Skills Module: 
This module is compulsory for ACCA members and will help you develop a good understanding of ethics. You’ll be exposed to real-life situations to develop the appropriate ethical and professional skills. ACCA, recommends you pass this before studying any other subjects at this level. The ACCA Qualification gives you the most up-to-date skills you need to become a finance professional. 


You need three GCSEs and two A Levels in five separate subjects including maths and English (or their equivalent) to start the ACCA Qualification

For a student visa, you will be required to submit the following documents:

  • Completed visa application form.
  • Two passport-size photographs (with white background) and 1 passport size photograph for the application submitted online.
  • Conditional Offer letter issued by The Woolwich Institute Admission Office
  • Clear passport copy (both sides) – please make sure that your passport is valid for at least six months from the time of visa application.
  • Copy of fee receipts.
  • 25% tuition fee.
  • Visa deposit of AED 2,500 (one time payment and refundable deposit following visa cancellation minus visa cancellation charges and other outstanding balance if any).
  • Annual Visa processing fee of AED 3,150 (Outside UAE) AED 4,900 (Inside of UAE) (this includes the visa processing, medical tests, medical insurance and emirates ID)
  • If you are below 18 years old, Immigration requires a Non Objection Certificate from your parents attested by the UAE Embassy and ministry of foreign affairs in your home country.

Yes, you may submit your visa application thru email at studentaffairs@woolwich.ac.ae TWI Visa Office will acknowledge the email and will guide you through the process.

  • The processing time will take approximately 10-15 working days before we receive the student entry permit.
  • The entry permit is valid for 2 months and should be used to enter the country within the date specified on the visa.
  • The student visa stamping will follow upon arrival and will take another 15-20 days.

Your student visa is valid for a period of one year and can be renewed while you are still actively enrolled as a student of The Woolwich Institute Dubai.

Pearson, the biggest learning organisation in the world with locations all over the world, grants BTEC credentials. BTEC is an acronym for the Business and Technology Education Council. In order to prepare students for the job market, BTECS are vocational qualifications that incorporate both practical learning and theoretical instruction. BTEC courses are offered at TWI at levels 3 through 5, allowing students to go further with a variety of entry points even if they have not finished high school.

Pearson courses at TWI are divided into below categories:

BTEC Level 3 Diploma: These courses, which are equivalent to three A levels, provide a more in-depth look at the subject and more specialised information catered towards a particular career path or work role.

HND: With some prerequisites, the Higher National Diploma offers advanced studies and is roughly equivalent to the first two years of university.

Yes, currently TWI students can work part-time as allowed by the DDA and the Dubai Creative Clusters Authority with an approximate limit of 20 hours per week.

Yes, all classes at the TWI Dubai Campus are conducted in English. However, our student support and the recruitment team can speak different languages to help explain our admissions, enrolment and other student services procedures.

Our credentials serve as a starting point for your academic or professional career. After earning our credentials, you have the option of continuing your undergraduate studies at one of 200 institutes worldwide by applying for a top-up year, or finding entry-level employment.

The Academic and Professional Development modules are offered as a part of our curriculum and are taken by all of our students. Students have the opportunity each month to advance their technical and soft skills that can be used to both at BTEC and the workplace. Each semester, we also plan seminars and business outings to help students better grasp the modern workplace.
